Registration Summary
To store, prepare, distribute or sell food on or from any premises you will first need to be registered with your local authority. Premises which may be required to register include restaurants, cafes, hotels, shops, canteens, market stalls, mobile catering vans and food delivery vans, (please note that this is not an exhaustive list).
Some manufacturers handling products of animal origin may also need to be approved by the local authority or the Meat Hygiene Service.

Do I have to pay an application fee?
There is no fee payable for this application.
How long will it take to process my application and will implied consent apply?
Your application will take up to 28 days to process and yes implied consent will apply. This means that you will be able to act as though your application is granted if you have not heard from the local authority by the end of the 28 day target completion period.
Can I appeal if my application is unsuccessful?
Please contact the Environmental Health Section in the first instance regarding any returned or refused registration applications.
