Former British champion, Tony Baldwin, a leading rider with the Blaenau Gwent BMX outfit Tred BMX, made a magnificent came back at the Hayes Winter Series Round 2 held in Middlesex recently.
Representing Tred BMX - the new Welsh biking team based at Parc Bryn Bach, Tredegar - Tony ripped up the track in style taking first place in all three motos. This earned him a place in final where he continued his winning streak to take first again.
After a 15-year absence from the competitive BMX circuit, Tony is once again back on top.
Also representing Tred BMX on the day was 14-year-old Ashley Ransom from Tredegar. After impressive times and finishes in the preliminary races, Ashley took a respectable sixth place in the A Final for the 15-16 year old category and is now looking ahead to the National at Burnham-on-Sea in March. Team member Mark Ashley was also successful and took third place in the B Final.
Tred BMX is always looking for more members whether they want to be introduced to the sport or have ambitions to compete at national level like Tony Baldwin.
